We are a foster family in Mesa, AZ. We have been fostering for about 3 years and have cared for 16 foster kids (several of those for short term respite situations). I worked as a foster care licensing worker for nearly 7 years before deciding to stay at home with the kids. Prior to that, I worked with bio parents who had their children removed by CPS, so I have worked in the child welfare system for over 10 years. Today, I have 5 kids. Last week, I had 6. A year ago, I had 3. You get the idea, an ever changing family dynamic, never a dull moment. Our family feels called to take care of kids in need of a home, however, difficult and demanding it may be. It's often like swimming in "the deep end" or even more often like we've all gone "off the deep end".
